There are three types of users in Cognota: Learning Team Users, Business Users and External Users.

Learning Team Users are members of your Learning Teams who use the platform to do their work. Learning Users require platform licenses to be activated. The number of active learning team users will be limited by the number of licenses purchased by the organization. Learning Team Users can be Project Owners or Participants and can have their capacity tracked and managed.

Business Users are members of Business Teams who use the platform to submit requests or participate on projects when needed.

External Users are not employed by the client’s organization but serve as consultants, contractors or SMEs for particular projects.

If you ever need to update or modify a user's information you can follow these steps:

1. Click on Settings on the left menu bar

2. Select Users

3. Click into whichever user profile you want to update

4. Make your modifications

5. Click Update to save your changes

User's can also be disabled by following these steps:

1. Click on Settings on the left menu bar

2. Select Users

3. Click into whichever user profile you want to disable

4. Toggle Off the "Enable user account" setting

When you disable a user, it will disable their account and the user will no longer be able to access the platform. Please note that in most cases, disabled users will still be listed as the owner of any content they were part of. Admins will be able to update these fields with a new owner accordingly.

If you would like to adjust the User Type for any of your users, please reach out to us through Live Chat or send us an email at support@cognota.com.
