Team Alignment

Default Request Owner

Who will be responsible for managing incoming requests? Will this role rotate or remain consistent? What level of expertise is needed for this role?

Ensure clear communication of who owns the process and what their responsibilities are. Have a backup plan in case the default request owner is unavailable.

Request Review

What criteria will be used to determine whether a request meets the organization’s L&D objectives?

Define clear and objective criteria to avoid subjectivity in the review process. Determine if additional individuals need to be involved in the review, and how long the review will take.

Approval Process

Who has the authority to approve requests? What is the process for escalating requests that require additional approval? What factors determine if a request gets approved?

Ensure that the approval process is clear and communicated to all stakeholders. Establish clear criteria for when requests should be escalated.

Decline Process

What criteria will be used to determine when a request should be declined? How will requests be communicated to stakeholders if they are declined?

Ensure that the decline process is clear and communicated to all stakeholders. Consider providing feedback on why a request was declined to help stakeholders improve future requests.

Waitlist Process

What criteria will be used to determine when a request should be waitlisted? How will stakeholders be informed if their request is waitlisted?

Ensure that the waitlist process is clear and communicated to all stakeholders. Consider establishing timelines for how long a request can stay on the waitlist before being declined or approved.

Next Steps

What happens after a request has been approved? Who will be responsible for communicating with stakeholders and coordinating logistics? Who will be managing the project planning component? Will there be post-training evaluations or follow-up to ensure that the learning objectives have been met?

Define clear post-approval processes. Establish criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training and how feedback will be incorporated into future training programs.
