If a design needs to be reassigned to someone else (for example, when a team member leaves, changes roles, or takes over an existing course), an admin or learning team user can update the owner directly, without recreating the design.
To transfer ownership of a design, follow these simple steps:
Open the design and go to the Course panel. Click the Owner field to open the "Choose Design owner" dropdown.
Search for the new owner's name, or select it directly from the list. Please note that this list only includes users with an existing Cognota account. If the person you're looking for isn't listed, they'll need to be added as a user first.
A Change Ownership? confirmation window will appear, showing the design name and the new owner. Review the details, then click Change to confirm — or Cancel to keep the current owner.
Once confirmed, the new owner will take over accountability for the design going forward.
