Why can't I find a submitted request?

Written by Asia Ali

If a request you thought was submitted isn't showing up, it's likely still saved as a Draft rather than fully submitted. This happens when Save was selected instead of Submit while filling out the form.

Drafts are only visible to the requester (and anyone they've optionally made the draft visible to) — they aren't sent to the L&D team for review until they're officially submitted.

Why this happens

On the request form, there are two different buttons at the bottom:

  • Save — saves progress as a Draft so it can be finished later.

  • Submit — finalizes and submits the request. This notifies the request owner and moves the request into the review queue.

A common example: a requester fills out most of the form, clicks Save to come back to it later, and assumes that counts as submitting. The request then sits in Draft status indefinitely until they reopen and properly submit it.

How to check and fix it

  1. Have the requester go to the Requests tab.

  2. Look for the request in the list — if it's still in progress, it will show a Draft status.

  3. Open the draft and ensure all required fields are populated.

  4. Click Submit Request at the bottom of the form.

If any required fields are missing, an error message will appear at the top of the form and the missing fields will be highlighted in red. Complete those fields and click Submit Request again.

Once submitted, the request will move out of Draft status, appear in the Requests list in In Review status, and the request owner will be notified.
