You can now comment directly on requests using Dynamic Forms in Cognota.
This keeps the conversation about a request in the same place as the request itself — reducing the back-and-forth that happens outside Cognota.
What's new:
A comments panel on every request. Click the comments icon in the request header to open a side panel with the full comment history for that request.
Anyone who can view the request can comment. Leave a comment on any request in any status, except Draft.
@mention colleagues to bring them into the conversation directly from the comment panel.
Edit or delete your own comments. Users can manage their own comments but cannot edit or delete comments left by others.
Notifications:
When a comment is posted, the request owner(s) and requester are notified by email and in-app.
@mentioned users are also notified by email and in-app.
No notifications are sent for comment edits or deletions — unless an edit introduces a new @mention.
To opt out of email notifications, update the "Comments or mentions, in requests I send or own" setting in your notification preferences.
Good to know:
Comments on requests using Dynamic Forms work at the request level — one unified thread per request. This is different from legacy requests, where comments are attached field by field.
