We’re thrilled to introduce Gantt Charts for Project Tasks, a new view within your project workspace that brings task scheduling, sequencing and visualization into one interactive timeline. This update delivers:
A dedicated Gantt view for projects: an intuitive, drag-and-drop timeline of your tasks.
Full dependency management: view, create and delete links between tasks directly in the timeline interface.
What’s new in detail
Task Timeline Visualization & Editing
Switch into the Gantt view in any project to see tasks laid out chronologically.
Click a task to view details directly in context.
Create new tasks or edit existing ones right on the timeline.
Use drag-and-drop to reschedule tasks — quickly reflect changes without leaving the view.
Task Dependency Management
In the Gantt interface, you can view existing task dependencies.
Easily create or delete dependencies.
How to get started
1. Open the Gantt View
Go to Project → Tasks, then click the Gantt view icon in the top-right corner.
2. Adjust Task Dates
Move tasks: Click and drag a task bar along the timeline to change its schedule.
Resize tasks: Drag either end of the task bar to change the start or due date.
3. Add a New Task
Click Add Task (top-right corner) and follow the prompts to create a new task.
4. Manage Task Dependencies
Create a dependancy: Click the node icon on the right side of a task, then drag the line to the task it depends on.
View or remove dependancies: Click the dependancy icon on a task bar to view all of the dependancies associated with the task. From here, you can click on the 'x' icon to remove dependancies as well.
Coming soon: date shifting for dependent tasks, timeline zoom controls, and more customization options to make planning even easier.
We’d love to hear how you’re using the Gantt view and what additional capabilities you’d like to see. Please share any feedback or questions to support@cognota.com.
